EMERGENCY!!! I lost my phone or it was stolen, how can I prevent someone from seeing the data that was on it?

NOTE: If you have a Blackberry, call your network manager, or the helpdesk at 2324 for assistance in contacting the BlackBerry administrator to perform a remote wipe.

Step 1)

Open a web browser (Mac or PC is fine) and go to https://webmail.unt.edu

Step 2) 

Login to your email.

Step 3) 

In the top right hand corner, click OPTIONS.

Step 4) 

In the menu on the left select mobile devices.

Step 5) 

Click the button next to your mobile device.

Step 6)

In the menu just above your listed device, select the option to perform a remote wipe of your device.

Step 7)

Take a deep breath.


NOTE: You should always use a password to protect your device from unwarranted entry. There are Exchange policies available that will assist you with securing youmobile device. If you would like more information on how to secure your device using Exchange Active Sync policies, contact your network administrator.
